Orange barrels on a highway

Sidewalk improvements planned in Courtland along Hwy 14

MANKATO, Minn.— Motorists and pedestrians may encounter slight delays when crews reconstruct the sidewalks along Hwy 14 in Courtland beginning Monday, May 13.

The project includes removing the existing sidewalks and constructing new concrete sidewalks and pedestrian curb ramps from Red Shoe Drive to Fiemeyer Drive.

The highway shoulders and sidewalks will close during construction and driveway approaches will close for short periods as they are paved.

Work is expected to be complete in two weeks, weather permitting. When the project is finished, pedestrians will have accessible sidewalks that comply with the federal Americans with Disabilities Act.

Ti-Zack Concrete Inc. of Le Center will construct the $212,319.50 project.

Motorists should slow down and drive with caution through the work zone.
