Short detour for Hwy 14 in Sleepy Eye begins Oct. 8
Railroad track repairs scheduled for two weeks
MANKATO, Minn. – Motorists on Hwy 14 on the west edge of Sleepy Eye will be sent on a short detour beginning Oct. 8 while crews work on the railroad crossing by Del Monte.
The detour consists of Brown County Road 27 and 280th Avenue and will be in place about two weeks.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation and Trackworks, LLC of Sleepy Eye are working cooperatively on the track improvements that will make the crossing smoother and safer. MnDOT will replace the asphalt and Trackworks will remove one set of tracks and repair the other.
