Hwy 14/Hwy 169 interchange improvement rescheduled to start Sept. 24
Cross traffic prohibited during construction; through lanes restricted

MANKATO, Minn. –  Motorists will encounter delays and closures when crews begin constructing a truck acceleration lane on Hwy 169 at the Hwy 14 interchange on the north edge of Mankato beginning Sept. 24.

The closures include:

During these closures, traffic will be signed to use the Hwy 14 interchange at Third Ave. in Mankato to circle back to either northbound Hwy 169 or westbound Hwy 14.  The project is expected to last about two weeks.

Central Specialties, Inc. of Alexandria is the contractor on the $387,033 project, which is designed to improve traffic movements and safety in the area of the interchange. This project was initially scheduled to begin Sept. 4, but a shortage of aggregate resulted in a delay.
