MnDOT collecting drainage information for Hwy 60 plans from Mountain Lake to Butterfield

Open house set for Sept. 12 at Mountain Lake

MANKATO, Minn. — Landowners along Highway 60 from east of Mountain Lake to west of Butterfield are encouraged to bring their tile maps to an open house Wednesday, Sept. 12 at the Mountain Lake City Council Chambers, 930 Third Ave. Maps can be dropped off anytime between 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Engineers at the Minnesota Department of Transportation are working on plans for the Highway 60 four-lane expansion from Butterfield to Mountain Lake, which is scheduled for construction in 2015-16. To ensure construction goes as smooth as possible, they are trying to collect tile locations so existing drainage is preserved and future drainage problems are minimized.

Individuals unable to attend the open house can contact Shanna Kent at 507-304-6139. To learn more about the Highway 60 project from Windom to St. James, visit
