New surface for Hwy 62 presents opportunities for drain tile repairs

MANKATO, Minn. – Plans for a new surface on Hwy 62 from Hwy 59 in Fulda to Windom provide an opportunity for land owners along the corridor to have any damaged drain crossings repaired in summer 2013.

The project consists of removing the asphalt surface, recycling it for a base and adding new pavement for the surface. Motorists can expect a much smoother ride when the project is complete in fall 2013.

When the old surface is removed, The Minnesota Department of Transportation has the opportunity to deal with drain tile issues in the highway right of way.  Land owners with tile crossings in need of repair are encouraged to contact Chuck Slama, MnDOT District 7 designer, at 507-304-6153 or by Aug. 10.

The construction will require a detour to for the duration of the project.
