Public invited to July 11 meeting on Hwy 169 reconstruction in Blue Earth
Construction scheduled for 2013


MANKATO, Minn. – The public is encouraged to attend an open house on the reconstruction of Hwy 169 in Blue Earth slated for 2013.


The open house will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 11, at the Public Safety Center, 120 S. Walnut Street, Blue Earth. A brief presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m.


The Minnesota Department of Transportation and the city of Blue Earth are working closely on this project and would like the opportunity to share the construction staging and detour plans with residents and businesses.


The $8.8 million project includes reconstructing and resurfacing Hwy 169 from the Union Pacific Railroad Bridge to Faribault County Road 6, and installing roundabouts at Seventh Street, Leland Parkway/County Road 16 and County Road 44.


The project will result in improved intersection safety, upgraded utilities, a smoother driving surface and enhanced pedestrian accommodations.
