Hwy 60 detour south of Worthington returns to original route May 15
MANKATO, Minn. – Motorists using the Hwy 60 detour south of Worthington will use the original detour route—Nobles County Road 4, Nobles County Road 5 and Nobles County Road 33—beginning Tuesday, May 15.
Crews recently completed pavement repairs on the detour route, after it deteriorated from added traffic over the winter.
A detour map and a local access map can be found at www.dot.state.mn.us/d7/projects/hwy60/index.html. The detour is expected to be in place until fall 2012, weather permitting.
Crews resumed construction to expand Hwy 60 to four lanes, and the third phase from Nobles County Road 35 to I- 90 will begin this summer.
R & G Construction Company of Marshall is the prime contractor on the Paul Avenue to Nobles County Road 35 section.
Mathiowetz Construction of Sleepy Eye is the prime contractor on the rural segment from Nobles County Road 4 to Paul Avenue. Lunda Construction is the prime contractor to replace the railroad bridge. All work is part of the Hwy 60 four-lane expansion from Bigelow to I-90 in Worthington.
