Hwy 60 construction resumes in Worthington April 9
Open house set for April 23
MANKATO, Minn. - The Hwy 60 four-lane expansion project in Worthington will resume Monday, April 9, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Construction work includes starting the decorative noise wall near the Morningside neighborhood and pavement removal of the existing highway. Local residents are advised to expect changes in their access.
An open house for residents and businesses affected by the construction has been set for April 23 from 4 p.m. to
6 p.m. in the Farmers Room at the Nobles County Courthouse, 315 10th St, Worthington. The public is encouraged to stop in and meet the contractors and MnDOT staff.
Construction of the new Union Pacific Railroad Bridge over Hwy 60 continues and work will resume on the southern rural segment in May. The final phase from south of the railroad bridge to Interstate 90 will begin in early July. The entire project is expected to be complete in late 2013.
The current detour of Nobles County Road 2 and County Road 13 will continue until mid-May when the detour will change back to County Road 4 and County Road 5 and County Road 33 until the end of the 2012 construction season.
