Guardrail installation on Hwy 14 in Mankato area begins Aug. 15
Expect temporary lane closures
MANKATO, Minn. — Motorists can expect brief lane closures on Hwy 14 through the Mankato area beginning Monday, Aug. 15, as crews install cable median guardrail. Flaggers will control traffic during the lane closures.
The guardrail installation extends from Lookout Drive in North Mankato to Blue Earth County Road 86 at Eagle Lake. It is scheduled to be completed by late September, weather permitting.
Cable median guardrail prevents cross-median collisions, which helps lessen crash severity and saves lives.
Hwy Technologies Inc. is the prime contractor for the $624,096 project.
MnDOT urges motorists to always drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
