Hwy 14 four-lane section west of Waseca opens soon
Expansion work from Waseca to Owatonna will be completed in 2012
MANKATO, Minn. – Hwy 14 motorists will be able to drive on the new four-lane section from Waseca County Road 2 to Hwy 13 beginning Monday, Aug. 15, or Tuesday, Aug. 16.
Motorists traveling east on Hwy 14 to south on Hwy 13 or traveling north on Hwy 13 to west on Hwy 14 will benefit from the five miles of new roadway. Truck traffic along Hwy 14 will likely continue using the existing two-lane roadway until the entire expansion project is complete.
The new section west of Waseca was initially scheduled to open in fall 2010, but encountered several delays, including weather and the state government shutdown.
Construction continues on the Hwy 14 four-lane expansion from Hwy 13 in Waseca to Interstate 35 in Owatonna. All work will be completed in 2012.
