Public invited to open house on June 8
MANKATO, Minn. – Hwy 83 traffic will be detoured to Hwys 22 and 30 Monday, June 13 as road construction begins, according to Minnesota Department of Transportation.
The construction consists of resurfacing Hwy 83 from Mankato to St. Clair and restoring the pavement from St. Clair to Hwy 30. Along with minor culvert and guardrail improvements, the project will provide a smoother, safer ride when it is complete in late August.
A public open house to address concerns about the construction and detour is being held on Wednesday, June 8 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the St. Clair City/Fire Hall, 304 Main Street West. The contractor, Knife River Construction, and Mn/DOT officials will be present.
To request an ASL interpreter, call 651-366-4720. To request other reasonable accommodations, call 651-366-4718; the Minnesota Relay Service toll-free at 1-800-627-3529 (TTY, Voice or ASCII) or 711, or email your request to ADArequest@state.mn.us.
Local residents are advised that multiple crews will be working on the Hwy Monday through Saturday and those needing to access the closed road should use caution.
