Public meeting on Hwy 60 Windom to St. James expansion set for June 14

MANKATO, Minn. – The public is encouraged to attend an open house about plans for the new four-lane sections on Hwy 60 from Windom to St. James.  The open house will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, June 14 in the Mountain Lake City Hall Council Chambers, 930 3rd Avenue, Mountain Lake.

Minnesota Department of Transportation officials have been updating the 1983 Environmental Impact Statement and will be present to visit with individuals about highway designs and impacts of the expansion.  The public can provide input into the alternatives being considered in the Bingham Lake area and find out about drainage and access along the corridor.

Three projects are planned to complete the gaps in the four-lane Hwy 60 from Windom to St. James.  Construction on the first project is programmed for 2013-14.  The remaining projects will follow in 2015 to 2019 as funding allows.  For more information, visit www.dot.state.mn.us/d7/projects/hwy60stjames/index
