Highway 30 resurfacing results in detour beginning June 6
Public invited to open house on June 2
MANKATO, Minn. – Traffic on Highway 30 from Amboy to Mapleton will be detoured beginning June 6 for a resurfacing project, according to Minnesota Department of Transportation.
The first stage of construction results in a detour to Highway 169 and Blue Earth County Roads 142 and 18. The detour will change to Blue Earth County Roads 29 and 7 by mid-July for the second stage of construction.
The project consists of restoring or reclaiming the pavement along with minor culvert and guardrail improvements and will provide a smoother, safer ride when it is complete in late August.
A public open house to address concerns about the construction and detour is being held on Thursday, June 2 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Mapleton Fire Hall, 104 2nd Avenue Northeast. The contractor, Knife River Construction, and Mn/DOT officials will be present.
To request an ASL interpreter call 651-366-4720. To request other reasonable accommodations, call 651-366-4718; the Minnesota Relay Service toll-free at 1-800-627-3529 (TTY, Voice or ASCII) or 711, or e-mail your request to ADArequest@state.mn.us.
Local residents are advised that multiple crews will be working on the highway Monday through Saturday and those needing to access the closed road should use caution.
