Highway 14 detour near Waseca ends Saturday (Nov. 6)
MANKATO, Minn. –The Highway 14 detour on the west edge of Waseca is expected to be removed Saturday, Nov. 6, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
The detour was put in place on Aug. 16 to accommodate the connection of the new Highway 14 alignment to the existing four lane roadway west of Waseca. The work required reconfiguring Highway 14 and Waseca County Road 2 into an interchange and included grading, paving, signing and striping.
Construction continues on Highway 14 from County Road 2 to Highway 13; however the opening, which was expected late this fall, is weather dependent and may not happen until spring.
The Highway 14 four-lane expansion from Waseca to Interstate 35 in Owatonna will be completed in 2012.
