UPDATE: TRAVEL ADVISORY
Hwy 169 repaired
All lanes open north of St. Peter at 9 p.m. tonight

MANKATO, Minn.- (4:30 p.m.) All four lanes of Highway 169 between St. Peter and LeSueur are expected to be open around 9 p.m. tonight, Wednesday, October 13.  The flood-damaged northbound lanes north of St. Peter have been repaired and Mn/DOT crews are currently in the process of removing several miles of traffic control.

After the flood waters receded on October 5, Mn/DOT was able to open Highway 169 to traffic; however a four mile segment north of St. Peter remained restricted to one lane each way on the southbound lanes due to a 200-foot section of roadway that was undermined and collapsed.

The only remaining state highway in south central Minnesota that is closed is Highway 66 south of Mankato.  Highway 66 is closed due to flood damage of a pier on the historic Red Jacket Trestle, which crosses over the highway.  Blue Earth County is working on plans to remove the damaged section of the trestle this fall, which will allow Mn/DOT to open Highway 66 to traffic.
