Snow storm makes for difficult driving conditions in southwestern Minnesota
MANKATO, Minn.- (2:45 p.m.) The Minnesota Department of Transportation advises motorists not to travel unnecessarily in Cottonwood, Jackson, Nobles and Rock Counties, due to moderate snowfall and snow-clouds reducing visibility.
No interstate highways or other road closures are anticipated at this time, however winds are predicted to increase tonight and tomorrow further reducing visibility.
Mn/DOT snow plow operators are out in force and will continue to do their part to make our highways safe.
Mn/DOT would like to remind motorists to follow safe winter driving practices as southwestern Minnesota experiences significantly reduced visibility.
Motorists should:
- Turn on headlights.
- Always use seat belts.
- Adjust speed to road and weather conditions.
- Avoid using cruise-control.
