Highway 13 expected to open next week
Highway 14 construction to continue as weather allows
MANKATO, Minn. – Highway 13 at Waseca is expected to open for motorists by Nov. 18. Motorists should continue to use caution as some construction activities will continue in the area.
Motorists were rerouted in May for the realignment of Highway 13 and the construction of an interchange with Highway 14 and Highway 13. This is the second season of construction on the four-lane Highway 14 Waseca bypass.
Other work that took place this construction season in the Waseca area included grading and bridge construction. The work on Waseca County Road 5 was completed and opened earlier this fall. Bridge work will continue on County Road 4 and the railroad crossing as weather allows.
The Steele County portion of the project began in July. The construction cost of the two projects to complete the expansion of Highway 14 to Interstate 35 at Owatonna is $108 million.
