Westbound traffic on Highway 99 bridge in Saint Peter detoured Sept. 1-2
Location
Highway 99 at the east edge of Saint Peter (over the Minnesota River).
Timeframe
From 7:30 a.m., Sept. 1, until 4:30 p.m., Sept. 2, 2009.
Traffic Impact
Westbound traffic detoured to Le Sueur County Road 21 (the golf course road), Highway 22 north and Highway 169 south to Highway 99 west. Eastbound traffic will continue to use the bridge.
Project information
The detour is to allow consultants to inspect the historic bridge to determine if the existing structure can be rehabilitated and made structurally redundant. If the bridge cannot be rehabilitated, it will be replaced by a new bridge, with the current bridge moving to an adjacent site upstream for use on a Saint Peter and Le Sueur county trail.
