Hwy 14 meeting on Aug. 20 presents preferred route between New Ulm and North Mankato
Interested individuals are invited to a public meeting to learn about the preferred route for Highway 14 between New Ulm and Nicollet. The presentation will take place at the Courtland Community Center on Thursday, August 20 at 6:30 p.m.
Mn/DOT Project Manager Peter Harff will present information on each segment of the 24-mile corridor. Other Mn/DOT staff will be available after the presentation to answer questions. Work on developing the preferred alternative was delayed for several months while Mn/DOT focused on American Recovery and Reinvestment Act projects.
Mn/DOT announced last fall that additional study was needed on the route between Nicollet and Courtland and has been meeting with other agencies to resolve issues.
The schedule for the Final EIS can be found at www.dot.state.mn.us/d7/projects/14newulmtonmankato/. The goal is to complete the study by December 2010. The construction project has not yet been scheduled or funded.
