Mn/DOT’s 20-year Statewide Transportation Plan available for public review, comment

 

(Mankato, Minn.)—The Minnesota Department of Transportation announces that the Minnesota Statewide Transportation Plan for years 2009-2028 is now available for public review and comment.

The plan, titled “Transforming Minnesota’s Transportation System,” sets a long-range vision for transportation in Minnesota and identifies transportation system needs, goals and priorities for the next 20 years.

There are several opportunities to review and comment on the plan:

Attend a stakeholder outreach meeting in Mankato at the Blue Earth County Library, 100 East Main from 9:30 a.m. - noon on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009 (or in a location of your choice, see attached schedule), to hear a brief presentation and view the Minnesota Transportation Policy Plan. Attend a statewide video conference public meeting from 9 a.m. to noon on Thursday, March 26, 2009 at the Mn/DOT District 7 offices located at 501 S. Victory Drive in Mankato or 180 S. County Road 26 in Windom (or in a location of your choice, see list attached). An ASL interpreter will be available at this videoconference.

STAKEHOLDER OUTREACH MEETING SCHEDULE

To learn more about the Statewide Transportation Plan in person and provide comment, citizens can attend Mn/DOT district Stakeholder Outreach Meetings. These meetings will be conducted in an open house format. Brief remarks will be made at the beginning of each meeting on both the Statewide Transportation Plan and the district Highway Investment Plans. Mn/DOT staff will be on hand to provide additional information concerning the plan’s direction and answer questions. To request an ASL interpreter call 651/366-4720. VIDEO CONFERENCE PUBLIC MEETING SCHEDULE

Mn/DOT will hold a statewide video conference public meeting to solicit official comment on the Minnesota Statewide Transportation Plan.
