MANKATO, Minn. -- Landowners and area residents along Highway 60 between Bigelow and Interstate 90 are invited to meet with state transportation officials on Tuesday, May 20, to learn about the progress of expanding Highway 60 in Worthington.
The open house will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Farmers Room at the Nobles County Courthouse in Worthington.
Minnesota Department of Transportation staff will discuss project impacts to neighborhoods and gather public input into design of such items as street access, noise walls, trails and aesthetics.
The public can preview maps of the three phases planned for construction at http://www.dot.state.mn.us/d7/projects/hwy60/index.html. The phases include:
Phase 1 (Bigelow bypass to County Rd 10)
Property Acquisition - 2008-10
Construction - 2010-11
Phase 2 (County Rd 10 to County Rd 35)
Property Acquisition - 2009-10
Construction - 2011
Phase 3 (County Rd 35 - I-90)
Property Acquisition - 2010-11
Construction - 2012-13
Design/plan decisions regarding the three phases will be made later this summer or early fall.
