Mankato, Minn. - State Highway 22 at the south edge of Mankato will be open to traffic Friday (October 27), according to officials at the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Motorists are asked to us caution as some minor work will continue in the area.
The reconstruction project was originally expected to be finished by Labor Day, but a significant amount of additional work on the project combined with some cold and rainy weather added to the delay.
The project included three areas with major grading work in the area of Hungry Hollow Road, Highway 83 and Victory Drive, where turn lanes and other safety improvements are being made. The remaining segments of pavement were milled and resurfaced. The project also included upgrades to signals and lighting.
Southern Minnesota Construction of Mankato was awarded the primary contractor on the project.
