Mankato, Minn.
- Retirements and reorganization in the District 7 office of the
Minnesota Department of Transportation have resulted in expanded
roles for Assistant District Engineer for Operations Gordon Regenscheid
and Assistant District Engineer for Project Delivery Greg Ous
of the Mankato office and Superintendent Tom Zimmerman of the
Windom office.
"As with
many other state agencies, we continue to look at ways to maintain
our service levels with a reduced budget," explained Transportation
District Engineer Jim Swanson. "Nearly all of our staff is
affected by recent strategic staffing, but they are an amazingly
dedicated and hard-working team and we believe we can continue
to be successful with the recent changes."
|
|
Regenscheid's
operations management responsibilities have expanded from
the east half of the district westward to include all 13 counties
in District 7 with the upcoming retirement of Assistant District
Engineer George Welk of Windom. |
|
|
Similarly,
Zimmerman has taken responsibility for highway maintenance
for all District 7 counties with the crews from 20 truck stations
located throughout the district with the recent retirement
of Superintendent Gary Martinson of Mankato. |
|
|
District
7 has also expanded Ous's management role for Project Delivery.
Currently he is responsible for environmental documentation
and preparing construction plans for contract letting. He
will now also be responsible for field construction activities
in the district. |
