Snowplow
Exhibit Friday

What:
A public exhibit of city, county and state snowplows, law enforcement
and emergency vehicles
When:
Friday, November 12 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Where:
Intergovernmental Center parking lot on Hickory Street in Mankato
Why:
To educate the public on winter safe driving with an emphasis
on snowplow safety.
How:
-
Talk
to snowplow operators about the challenges of their job.

Experience
first-hand the inside of a truck and the technology used today.

Gain
an awareness of the weight and size difference between a mid-sized
vehicle and a fully-loaded snowplow truck-and the dangers that
come with sharing the road.

Visit
with law enforcement and gain an understanding of the partnership
they have with snowplow operators during snowstorms.
Who: Representatives
of the Minnesota Department of Transportation, Blue Earth County,
City of Mankato, State Patrol and Red Cross will be available.
