Mankato, Minn.
- Weather permitting, State Highway 59 from Worthington to Fulda
should be open to traffic by Friday, October 22, according to
Ken Janovsky, project supervisor from the Minnesota Department
of Transportation.
The Highway
59 project, which began in May and includes a detour to state
and county roads, experienced a delay in August.
Improvements
include replacement of deteriorated pavement, new shoulders and
a smoother surface, and turn lanes and wider shoulders in the
Fulda area.
The prime
contractor was James Cape and Sons Company of Racine, Wisconsin.
Mn/DOT officials
thank Highway 59 users for their patience during this project.
