Work on I-90 and Highway 264 Begins

Mankato, Minn. - Spot milling and paving on Highway 264 to Round Lake is expected to begin Friday, July 30 and on Interstate 90 east of Highway 264 on Monday, August 2, according to Ken Janovsky, project supervisor at the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Motorists should expect daytime lane closures on Highway 264 with brief delays.

Restrictions on westbound I-90 between Highway 264 and Highway 86 include the closure of a driving lane and reduced speeds (40 mph when under construction and 55 mph at night).

The spot improvements will take one to two weeks. Southern Minnesota Construction Company of Mankato was awarded the project with a bid of $762,476.

Mn/DOT advises motorists to reduce their speeds and be alert when driving through a work zone! Fines are doubled.
