Mankato,
Minn. - The safety project on State Highway 112 south of
LeSueur is taking longer than initially expected due to
rain and contractor delays, according to Project Supervisor
Nathan Gannon, at the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
When
the Highway 112 project began the week of May 17, Mn/DOT
announced the project should be complete in about two months.
Now it looks like it will continue to early August.
Highway
112 is detoured to LeSueur County Roads 115 and 15.
The
safety project includes reconstructing the curve for a more
gradual turn and realigning the connection with County Highway
23, and replacing a culvert about three miles east of the
curve.
Southern
Minnesota Construction of Mankato was awarded the project
with a bid of $890,431.
