Mankato,
Minn. - State Highway 4 south of Sleepy Eye should open
to traffic for the July 4 Holiday weekend, according to
Robert Williams, project engineer at the Minnesota Department
of Transportation in Windom.
Highway
4 has been detoured since the week of June 14 to accommodate
the replacement of a bridge over a ditch. The project was
expected to take four weeks, but the contractor completed
it well ahead of schedule.
The
bridge that was replaced with a double box culvert is about
nine miles south of Sleepy Eye, near Brown County Highway
20.
Mathiowetz
Construction Company of Sleepy Eye was awarded the project
with a bid of $222,668.
