Mn/DOT Announces End of Spring Road Weight Restrictions
in 3 Zones

ST. PAUL, Minn.-Spring highway weight load restrictions in the Twin Cities, southern and southeastern frost zones will end April 19 at 12:01 a.m., the Minnesota Department of Transportation announced.

Load restrictions in the other zones-central, north-central and northern-- remain in effect until further notice.

Mn/DOT restricts truck weights during the spring to prevent damage to highways weakened by moisture in the ground.

Maps listing the routes that remain restricted can be found on Mn/DOT's Web site at www.mrr.dot.state.mn.us . To determine if a route is restricted or not, click on "Seasonal Load Limits" and then on "Spring Load Restrictions." The site also provides a text list of restricted highway segments as well as specific route exceptions.

Information about the changes will also be available toll-free by pre-recorded phone message at 1-800-723-6543 from the United States and Canada and at 651-747-2253 from the Twin Cities metropolitan area.
