Traffic impacts

When lane closures are in place, dynamic warning systems on I-35 and Hwy 14 in both directions warn travelers of stopped traffic and encourages them to use the late zipper merge.

I-35

Southbound I-35 (between exit 32 and exit 42) is shifted to the northbound lanes of I-35. I-35 southbound lanes are closed. Northbound and southbound traffic travel in the northbound lanes and will remain in this configuration until November 2017.

Hwy 14

Eastbound Hwy 14 traffic is shifted to westbound Hwy 14 lanes. The eastbound Hwy 14 lanes are closed. Eastbound and westbound traffic travel in the westbound lanes and will remain in this configuration until November 2017.

Ramp closures

All Hwy 14 traffic is on the westbound lanes, so the northbound I-35 ramp to eastbound Hwy 14 is closed. Traffic will be detoured through the Hwy 14 interchange with I-35. Follow detour signes.

Rest area

The southbound Straight River Rest Area is closed while traffic is switched to the northbound lanes and will remain closed for the duration of the 2017 construction.
The northbound Straight River Rest Area was recently reconstructed and includes a truck parking lot expansion. It opened in August of 2017.
