We’ve completed the first year of the project to replace 10 bridges along Interstate 35 and Highway 14 south of Owatonna. Next year, we will complete the project. During 2017, we replaced three bridges on I-35 in the southbound lanes and two bridges on Highway 14 in the eastbound lanes. In 2018, we’ll complete the project by replacing the adjacent bridges in northbound I-35 and westbound Highway 14.
Additionally, we have had added two bridges to this project that were damaged in the spring of 2017 when equipment being hauled on a trailer struck and damaged the Steele County Road 18 and the Steele County Road 31 bridges. County Road 31’s bridge deck and beams were replaced. The County Road 18 bridge over I-35 will be replaced in spring 2018.
Thanks for your patience during this important bridge improvement project.
