Trucks over 5 tons will be detoured around a bridge on Hwy 56 near Kenyon for two days beginning Friday, Sept. 15 while crews complete the second concrete pour on the deck and allow it to cure.
The detour is expected to be lifted Sunday, Sept. 17. The pouring of the second half of the bridge deck on the bridge near Kenyon requires the detour of trucks weighing 5 tons or greater during the initial curing of the bridge deck, so that the bond between the two halves of the bridge deck is disturbed as little as possible.
The detour route is Highway 60 east to Highway 57 north (Wanamingo) to Highway 52 north (Hader) to Goodhue County Road 9 west to Highway 56.
Regular traffic will continue on a single lane across the bridge. It remains open to traffic with the use of temporary traffic signals. The traffic signals regulate the traffic at the bridge.
The bridge at Stanton opened Aug. 26. There is no detour for this bridge.
