The Hwy 52 detour was lifted on Friday, Aug. 30 between Interstate 90 and Chatfield.
Paving work continues in areas between I-90 and Chatfield, while work in Chatfield includes paving, signal replacement and sidewalk improvements for people who are walking and biking.
Plan for short-term traffic delays during the paving. Flaggers will be stopping traffic for short periods during paving work so each direction of traffic takes turns in the open lane that’s not being paved at the time.
There will a short-term detour using Olmsted County Rd. 10 to I-90 during replacement of a centerline pipe north of Olmsted County Rd. 136, which begins May 6. The remaining work will be done under traffic. This should last about 10 days before traffic is reopened for a few weeks on Hwy 52.
The work within the city limits of Chatfield does not require a detour of roadway traffic.
Then on June 3, traffic will be detoured during the replacement of the three box culverts located between Olmsted County Rd. 16 and Olmsted County Rd. 7 North. Traffic will detoured from Hwy 52 to County Rd. 7 to I-90 and is estimated to last up to eight-weeks.
