Temporary Hwy 42 rail crossing repairs completed near Eyota
ROCHESTER, Minn. — Repairs to a Highway 42 railroad crossing by the Canadian Pacific Railway were completed, but more extensive repairs are required, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
MnDOT also conducted temporary repairs on Oct. 18 in conjunction with CP Rail’s work to help improve to the approach area to the railroad crossing, but CP Rail determined more extensive repairs are needed and will return to the site at a later date to conduct the repairs. It’s expected that a detour will be needed for those repairs. MnDOT will announce the work in advance along with the detour route and expected time span needed for the work.
Motorists should always be attentive, drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
