Orange barrels on a highway

Hwy 42 rail crossing repairs scheduled near Eyota Oct. 18-19

ROCHESTER, Minn. — Motorists on Highway 42 near Eyota will encounter short delays Oct. 18-19, while the Canadian Pacific Railway repairs a rail crossing, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Flaggers will direct traffic through the work zone, so motorists may have to wait and take turns at the crossing. Alternate routes are encouraged during the workday to avoid delays. The crossing is south of Highway 14 on the west side of Eyota on Highway 42.

Work is expected to last one day, but could stretch into a second day. MnDOT will also be doing work on the approach area to the rail crossing.

Motorists should always be attentive, drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
