Gilmore Avenue detour to begin July 11 in Winona for Hwy 61 project

ROCHESTER, Minn. – Winona motorists using Gilmore Avenue to get to Highway 61 or wanting to access Gilmore from Highway 61 will encounter a detour beginning on Monday, July 11, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

From the west, motorists will take Pelzer north to West Fifth Street east to Junction Street south, which will connect with Gilmore Avenue. To return to Highway 61 motorists can take Gilmore east to Vila Street and drive south of Highway 61. Highway 61 remains one lane in each direction for through traffic.

Construction work is expected to continue into September.
