Bridge repairs on I-90, Hwy 42 will restrict lanes in Wabasha, Winona counties

ROCHESTER, Minn. — Two short-term bridge repair projects are scheduled to begin July 5 on Interstate 90 and on Highway 42 that will restrict traffic to single lanes at times, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

On I-90 eastbound, motorists will see the lanes restricted to one while crews are upgrading the bridge railing. The project, between exits 242 and 249 about two miles east of Lewiston, is expected to be completed by July 21.

On Highway 42 north of Plainview, motorists will see traffic restricted to one lane while repairs are made. At times, traffic will be controlled by a signal light to allow vehicles to safely pass over the bridge. Work is expected to be completed by July 21. Short delays are possible as vehicles await their turn to cross.

Motorists should always be attentive, drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
