Overnight detour planned June 7 in Rochester at Hwy 52-Hwy 63
ROCHESTER, Minn. —Northbound Highway 63 motorists in Rochester who want to travel north onto Highway 52 will be detoured overnight on June 7 while decking formwork is installed on a bridge, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
The northbound ramp from Highway 63 to Highway 52 will close at 7 p.m., Tuesday, June 7 and reopen by Wednesday morning, June 8. Workers will be installing the decking formwork used for concrete. Crews are replacing the bridge decks on Highway 52 over Highway 63 this summer.
During the closure, traffic will be detoured to southbound Highway 52, exit at Olmsted County Road 1 travel under Highway 52 and return to northbound Highway 52. Motorists may use the detour for northbound Highway 52 or northbound Highway 63 into Rochester.
The project is a $4.2 million project to replace the Highway 52 bridge decks over Highway 63 and connect Highway 52 north’s third lane to the bridge. The project, which includes painting the bridge after construction, is expected to be completed by Nov. 3. MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
