Single lane traffic on Hwys 298, 299 in Faribault begins June 10
ROCHESTER, Minn. – Motorists on Highways 298 and 299 in Faribault will encounter single lane traffic in each direction beginning Friday, June 10 for road repaving work, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
The highways are being repaved by contractor, Crane Creek Asphalt. This is part of a project that includes similar work on Highway 3 from Highway 19 (Water Street) north to Sheldale Road in Northfield. Overall it’s a $1.1 million project.
Highway 298 and 299 will be reduced to one lane in each direction and there will be alternating lane closures. Short delays are possible because of the road construction work. Motorists should look for flaggers directing traffic. Work is scheduled to be completed by July 22.
Work on Highway 298 will take place between the start of Highway 298 and Seabury Lane, while the work on Highway 299 is between Highway 298 and Highway 60
MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
