Hwy 26 remains single-lane traffic during derailment cleanup
ROCHESTER, Minn. (10 a.m.) – Highway 26 south of Brownsville remains restricted to one lane as cleanup of an overnight train derailment continues, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
The derailment in Houston County occurred late Tuesday night, Jan 26, about seven miles south of Brownsville, Minnesota, along the Mississippi River in southeast Minnesota.
Traffic is being restricted to a single lane with flaggers directing it, so the cleanup crews and equipment can safely work at the site. The restrictions will be removed once cleanup is complete.
