Sinkhole repair forces short-term Hwy 63 lane closure in Stewartville
ROCHESTER, Minn. — Northbound motorists on Highway 63 in Stewartville will encounter a lane closure in the right lane through early Tuesday (July 8) afternoon as crews repair a small sinkhole, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
The area is between Fourth Street and Sixth Street Southeast in Stewartville. MnDOT crews will excavate the area where the hole occurred and fill it with gravel. It will likely be filled with additional gravel as it settles and then paved over to complete the repair.
MnDOT urges motorists to always be attentive, drive with caution, slow down in work and emergency zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
