Travel Advisory--MnDOT crews cleaning up mudslide on Hwy 250 near Lanesboro


ROCHESTER, Minn. — (11:20 a.m.) Motorists will encounter the Minnesota Department of Transportation north of Lanesboro on Highway 250 as crews clean up a mudslide near the roadway.

The road remains open and traffic is not being detoured, but MnDOT is using heavy equipment to move mud that came down onto a portion of the highway. The area is approximately two miles north of Lanesboro.

MnDOT urges motorists to follow these recommendations in work zones:
•     Stay alert
•     Watch for signs, equipment and workers
•     Minimize distractions, such as using cell phones, eating or drinking
•     Avoid tailgating
•     Follow posted speed limits and directional signs
•     Stay in one lane while driving through a work zone
