Public meeting on Hwy 65 repaving project set for June 26 in Albert Lea


ROCHESTER, Minn. – The public is invited to learn more about the Hwy 65 pavement resurfacing project at a public open house on Thursday, June 26.

The open house is scheduled for 4 p.m.-6 p.m., in the Albert Lea City Hall council chambers, 221 E. Clark St., Albert Lea, MN 56007. Businesses will be meeting earlier in the day from noon-2 p.m.

Representatives from the Minnesota Department of Transportation will be available to answer questions and provide information about the repaving work and other aspects of the estimated $3.5 million project, which is scheduled for construction in May 2015 in Albert Lea.

The project will replace pavement, sidewalks, guardrail, and repair culverts while improving the ride quality of the pavement and meeting Americans with Disabilities (ADA) standards for sidewalks. With this projct, MnDOT is working to preserve an efficient and effective transportation system in Freeborn County.
