Hwy 74 temporarily closed north of Beaver
ROCHESTER, Minn – A 7-mile stretch of Hwy 74 north of Beaver (Winona County Road 30) is temporarily closed due to spring thaw conditions, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
This portion of the Hwy 74 was closed on April 1, due to poor road conditions caused by the spring thaw and area waterways rising close to the roadway. The stretch from Beaver to Weaver (Winona County Road 26) is MnDOT’s only gravel road and is within the Whitewater Wildlife Area.
MnDOT workers placed barricades on the road and road signs warn motorists of the closure. The closure is indefinite until conditions improve.
