Orange barrels on a highway

I-90 construction in Winona County begins Aug. 26

ROCHESTER, Minn. – Motorists can expect single-lane traffic on Interstate 90 westbound between Highway 76 and the Winona County Road 12 overpass beginning Monday, Aug. 26, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

The closures are necessary as crews resurface the road.

When the project is complete, motorists will experience a smoother ride surface and a safer highway.

Dunn Blacktop, a division of Mathy Construction, is the prime contractor for the project, expected to be completed in early October.

This project is tied to the resurfacing project on Highway 43 between I-90 and Highway 61 in Winona.

MnDOT urges motorists to always drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
