US Fish and Wildlife boat launch at Dresbach Bridge opens Dec. 14

ROCHESTER, Minn. – Access to the US Fish and Wildlife boat launch from the Dresbach Travel Information Center will open to the public Saturday, Dec. 14, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Access to the USFWS boat launch had been closed since mid-March while crews began construction on the new access road and the west bridge abutment for the new Interstate 90 bridge.

The USFWS boat launch will remain open until spring 2014 when construction activities resume.

The Department of Natural Resources boat landing at the site will continue to remain open at all times during the project.

This $187.5 million project is a cooperative effort between the Minnesota and Wisconsin departments of Transportation and will continue through 2016. The project includes constructing a new I-90 crossing over the Mississippi River and reconstructing the Highway 61/14 and I-90 interchange.

The new I-90 river crossing will meet current structural and geometric standards, and the new interchange will improve traffic safety, capacity and access on and between Highway 61/14 and I-90.
