Orange barrels on a highway

Highway 80 construction in Fillmore County begins Oct. 3

ROCHESTER, Minn. — Motorists can expect single-lane traffic on Highway 80 between Highway 16 and Highway 52 beginning Thursday, Oct. 3, weather permitting, as crews begin resurfacing the road.

Flaggers will control traffic throughout the project, which is scheduled to continue through mid-October.

When the project is complete, motorists will experience a smoother ride surface and a safer highway with new guardrail and pedestrian accessibility improvements.

Dunn Blacktop Co., a division of Mathy Construction, is the prime contractor for the project.

The Minnesota Department of Minnesota urges motorists to always drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
