ROCHESTER, Minn. – Motorists will no longer be able to use the Highway 52 median to access 520th/135th Street beginning Monday, Aug. 5, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Highway 52 southbound 520th Street access detour
Exit at the new Elk Run interchange (Exit 68) and Highway 52 northbound.

Highway 52 northbound 135th Street access detour
Exit at Goodhue County Road 11 and Highway 52 southbound.

Right-in, right-out turns will continue to be allowed, at this time, at 520th Street and 135th Street.

The closure is necessary as crews prepare the median for culvert work on Highway 52.

Motorists can also expect lane closures on Highway 52 northbound and southbound in this area during culvert work preparation, expected to be complete mid-August.

The detours will remain in effect until construction of the East Frontage Road and interchange is complete.
Once completed, motorists will access 520th Street and 135th Street from the new interchange and frontage road.
