Highway 14 bridge replacement in Rochester begins July 19
Highway 52 closure also in effect
ROCHESTER, Minn. – The Highway 14 bridge over Highway 52 in Rochester will close beginning Friday, July 19, as crews begin a bridge replacement project.
Motorists will detour on 16th Street Southwest and South Broadway.
Motorists should be advised that left turn movements will not be allowed at the 16th Street Southwest and Olmsted County Road 125/Mayowood Road intersection during the project.
Highway 52 will close in both directions beginning at 9 p.m. on Friday, July 19 until 6 a.m. on Monday, July 22.
Highway 52 northbound traffic will detour on 16th Street Southwest, South Broadway and Highway 14.
Highway 52 southbound traffic will detour on Olmsted County Road 22/Salem Road Southwest and 16th Street Southwest.
The Highway 52 closure is necessary as crews remove the Highway 14 bridge deck.
The project is expected to be complete mid-September, weather permitting.
Ames Construction is the prime contractor for the bridge replacement project.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation urges motorists to always drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
