Highway 63 intersection closure in Rochester begins July 23
ROCHESTER, Minn. – The Highway 63 and Olmsted County Road 14/75th Street intersection will close beginning Monday, July 23, as crews work to construct a roundabout and repair a sinkhole.
Detour:
Olmsted County Road 21, County Road 11, County Road 2 and County Road 22.
The detour will be in place until early September, weather permitting.
When the project is finished, the intersection will be safer as roundabouts are proven to reduce severe crashes.
Rochester Sand and Gravel, a division of Mathy Construction, is the prime contractor for the $3.4 million project.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation urges motorists to always drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
