Lane restriction on Highway 63 Mississippi River bridge in Red Wing begins June 25
ROCHESTER, Minn. — Motorists traveling on Highway 63 over the Mississippi River in Red Wing will encounter temporary lane closures and delays beginning Monday, June 25, as crews conduct an annual bridge inspection.
The equipment needed to conduct the inspection requires a lane closure and traffic will be reduced to a single lane controlled by flaggers from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Both lanes will be open each evening after the inspectors have completed their work.
The lane closure will remain in effect through Friday, June 29, weather permitting.
Routine inspections of this bridge and other Mississippi River bridges are conducted annually; an in-depth inspection takes place once every other year.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation urges motorists to always drive with caution, slow down in work zones and never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones.
